Australian National Botanical Gardens
Pictures from our trip to the Australian National Botanical Gardens in Canberra. The flora and fauna are so different here. I guess that’s what happens when life is genetically isolated from the rest of the world for so long and subjected to such different conditions!
Giant ant hill on our way to the gardens
Jurassic Park I mean the botanical gardens
Kangaroo paw flower
Excited to go down into the rainforest gully
Cool and damp in the rainforest gully
Giant bushes with tall bright flowers at the top of the tall central stalks. These flowers had already bloomed and turned brown when we visited
Out of the rainforest and into the desert
My favorite: the tropical greenhouse
Don’t stick your finger in there!
Native regional plants
Finishing our visit with a latte and cookie!
